As the name suggests, Spicy City specializes in flavorful Sichuan dishes loaded with chiles. To double your fun, head over to the Dumpling Inn for a drink at its Shanghai Saloon and then a hearty helping of its famed xiao long bao, which are broth-filled steamed pork dumplings. Both are set in large banquet rooms and have an extensive menu of delicious bites. The chewy wrapper houses the most delicious pork, chives, peanuts filling. This has to be one of my favorite dumplings here at China Max. Grams wanted to treat family and friends to China Max. Rest assured that China Max has ample a/c. The sticky rice had a rich umami taste and feel to it. These were freshly fried and had a savory pork filling. She declares China Max is her favorite place now for dim sum in San Diego. My grandmother has been in town so we’ve been spending a lot of time together. I didn’t take many photos on each visit but managed to do my best with subsequent visits. I was told they steam/make each item to order. You order off a sheet and they bring out your dim sum when it’s ready. I’m glad I re visited as I’ve fallen for their dim sum.Ĭhina Max offers dim sum every day.
